Epson RS Spider
Epson has developed a new Scara robot that eliminates dead space and maximizes work space.
Instead of moving around a fixed pedestal the RS (Rotational Scara) Spider 351S has can maneuver back under
itself without any constraints. As a result, the robot can reach every point of its entire
circular workspace at particularly high speed.
The RS Spider can move directly to any point (within its expanded operating area) by taking
the shortest possible route. By contrast the usual SCARA system has to circumvent its own stand.
This innovation has reduced cycle times tremendously.
Advantages of the Spider
- no dead space
- reach every point within its working envelope
- significantly reduced cycle times (15-25%)
- easy integration
- ceiling-mount configurations - no footprint
- minimum space - no change of arms necessary
- internal orientation of the new kinematics allow for intelligent use of valuable production space

RC180 |
RC180 controller is small and compact system featuring the diversity and reliability
that is typical for products originating from Epson. It can be configured with 5
different mountings, allowing it to be installed in small places.
Simple yet powerful
The installation is simple and programming is very intuitive. The actual coding is
done on an external PC, running the programming environment. The software is easy
to understand for anyone with a little programming background.
Multitasking
The system isn't just for operating the robot, but using its inputs/outputs it can
control other devices and/or tasks as well in your specific application. Various
parts of the program can work together or completely independent of one another.
Networking
The RC180 offers full networking capability, which is often a requirement
for larger projects administered by several developers.

Epson's smart camera system is easy to install and simple to operate. Thanks to the
seamless Vision Editor integration, the camera plugs right into the robot's
programming environment. With the help of the powerful geometry tools the camera
programming is intuitive. There are two versions of the camera: stationary and
mobile.
You can use other type of cameras or vision systems with our robots as well.
