RC180 Robot Controller

The RC170/RC180 robot controller is a new, compact robot controller from Epson. It can be used with both SCARA robots or 6-axis robots. With its 9 kg weight and small footprint, it is the smallest 6-axis robot controller in the market.

It can be mounted in many different ways: wall, ceiling, rack, horizontally or vertically.

Programming

Programming for the RC170/RC180 is easy. These systems use the same Epson RC+ programming environment as other members of the Epson controller family (RC520, RC420). The software is installed on your external PC, or laptop. It supports networking, which makes it ideal for large projects. The environment is available in 3 languages: English, German and French (+Japanese).

Options

Our controller might be small, but there are full range of options available for it. You can use field-bus board for your project or attach a teaching pendant, or an operating pendant. The options are wide.

EPSON RC+ is EPSON's next generation robot and motion control system. It takes advantage of the latest advances in technology and at the same time provides a robot workcell controller that is easy to program and use.

The EPSON RC+ is running on to of a powerful Industrial PC (with Windows NT and a fast Intel Pentium III processor). But EPSON RC+ is much more than just a PC based controller. It is a powerful Workcell Controller designed to:
  • save developer's time and effort required to build automated workcells;
  • reduce the costs of components for workcells;
  • give users access to 3rd party hardware and software available for the PC;
  • provide top performance for fast cycle times and high part throughput;
  • provide a clear and easy upgrade path for the future;
  • allow for easy communications to other devices on the factory floor.

The SPEL+ programming language and the EPSON RC+ Development Environment provide all the elements you would expect to find in an advanced control system with standard features such as:
  • 32 task multitasking;
  • integrated source level multitask debugger;
  • color syntax checking editor;
  • control of multiple robots from one controller;
  • parameter passing;
  • variable data types;
  • language extendibility through user DLL's.
